Anybody out there know about mating a supra engine to a pickup transmition. I have a rebuilt 86 engine and dual pickup t-cases. I have been told that they will bolt together
My thought is with a inline 6 for power and dual cases, 1 with 4.7 gears. This may be a good combo for my new fj-40 tube crawler.

Man are you on uncharted waters. I've heard the supra idea kicked around a few times, but have nevere seen it. Though I'm sure it has been done, somewhere. Wiring will be terrifying, but I believe it will bolt up to p/u tranny. Just keep in mind the length of inline 6, p/u tranny is long for a 40, and then dual cases. Hope your going over a 100 inch wheelbase. Best of luck. I'd be very interested to see it when it's done.

Now, I'm completely out of my territory but I understand the Supra has an R156 tranny or something similar. The Turbo Toyota 4x4 has an R151. The bellhousing to gearbox pattern is the same on both IIRC. Ask on the POR Toy 4x4 forum, some guys have done it there.

How long is the pickup tranny anyhow?
