I'm in the (very long due to laziness, kids, etc...) process of installing a supercharger as I take care of various PM items. Right now I have the intake manifold off. I've replaced a lot of vacuum hoses, some EGR components that are hard to get to, fuel filter, and sent the injectors off to be serviced. I'm also replacing the heat shielding on the wire harness near the EGR. While I had the old heat shield off, I decided to extend my IAT and TPS wires by pulling them out of the harness all the way back to the other side of the engine compartment.
This has two advantages that I can see. First, it only requires cutting and splicing two wires. I was hoping to get away with no splices but I had to do two due to a splice near the back of the engine. The second is that the IAT and TPS wires no longer have to pass right by the EGR pipe. I think it will also look a bit cleaner. I'm not done, but so far it's been pretty easy to do with everything out. Here's an image of where I'm at right now:
Is it necessary? No, but it's another way of doing it so I figured I'd share.
