Sunroof in FJ40??

PO cut a 24x15 hole in fiberglass top for a sunroof...
Not a fiberglass guy and not sure exactly how to go about repairing the hole. Thought about finding a piece of fiberglass and cutting to approx size, then laying fiberglass till I have it bonded and then sanding the heck out of it to get it looking correct on top...Inside will have a headliner so that will hide the hidiousness from inside...any suggestions?
Oh, I also have an old sunroof yours for the asking, just pay the shipping!!

The only way to repair would be to make a mold from a roof with the channels in place and then glass up a thin patch to lay on top off the roof. Flip the roof and then start laying fiberglass matt with resin until your happy with the thickness and strength of the patch.
