Maybe they would do something. Personally I would never put them on my cruiser if the springs were tired . But that's just me.

You got me to the website, certainly interested. I'm not home so I can't call and then
check stuff like measurements and placement.
So what is your requirement? I've got an estimated 840 lbs of stuff with RTT, spare, fuel cans,
tools, bumper and rear winch etc so my OME's are just not holding up. Looking at either adding
another ad a leaf or air bag. The issues with the ad a leaf is it's more than a pain in the ass to remove
and replace the rear springs, then see they need more and again.
These things do have one advantage - no air fittings or lines to manage like an air bag. But I'm not sure
exactly how well these would work. I also have no idea on price.
Did you price them out? Which version are you specifically looking at?

No pricing yet. I was hoping to get some opinions before taking the plunge. I have OME heavys all around (about three years old), and an add a leaf on all four corners. Between all the extra weight of the bumpers, RTT, full size spare......and then adding all of the camping gear (not to mention the 12H-T is a heavy beast) on the trail I have a bit more body roll than I like. I'm wondering if there are as good as advertised??

You have the same concern as I do. Body roll doesn't bother me, it's the rear tire plunging into the wheel well too much and often.
Let me know if you get a quote. I will next week when I get home. God, I sure hope it's not yellow. Find out if they can be painted!

Maybe you've already covered these, but two questions come to mind...
  1. Do you have front and rear sway bars? These help reduce body roll, and with a disconnect for trail use you can still have full axle flex.
  2. Where are you putting heavy stuff - The lower the better and it will minimize body roll.

For me, no sway bars and its not body roll I'm worried about.

I have both front and rear sway bars, and the only thing I carry on the rack is the RTT.

E Trailer shows these at over $600! That seems like a lot. E Trailer has a total inventory of all kinds
and manufacturers. I recommend looking here and comparing everything cause its' one stop shopping.

Now that is a great thumbs up for them isn't it?! Hadn't thought that they might soften the ride.
I'm worried about allowing axle fall away on extension, which is hard to get with fixed air bags.

Sorry for the delayed reply here!

First off, I'll just say that I love the sumo spring addition! It really has tremendously helped the ride, with so far no negative side effects. suspension flex seems like it would be limited, but it's really not - they compress to less than half their height...and since they get progressively stiffer as they compress, it's an excellent bump stop. I had no sway bars after doing SOA (I didn't want their limitation off-road, and figured I didn't really need them on-road) and body roll had been something I considered a 'fun' part about driving my rig on the freeway...until I greatly reduced the body roll with the sumo springs, and found my truck even more fun to drive :)

As far as color goes - the dark blue ones are what 4x4 rigs would need (my rig ain't light either - just over 6000 lbs when unloaded). they are the 'lightest' duty - but more than enough compression resistance (and not too much) to do the job. The yellow more heavy-duty ones are for RVs and motorhomes - much heavier. They don't make the the same version in different colors.

As far as I know, they can be painted (but would probably have to continually be repainted since they change shape, likely causing paint to flake off) but I don't mind the color.

Mine are mounted with two 1" spacers (also from superspring company) in the rear, and no spacers in the front. we added some 'landing pads' that are offset a little towards the inside, so that if the axle is articulated, the one spring making contact is making good contact) - and on a level surface with no weight in the truck, there is about 1.5" of space between the top of the sumo spring and the landing pad - which so far is seems like the right amount (of space before the sumo springs have an effect).

The 'builder kit' is what you want to get ( https://www.supersprings.com/instructions/INS_SFR-104-40.pdf ). Price was about $450+tax (free shipping to me since I'm in CA, as is the company).
