I have a 06 470 with nav and mark levinson speakers. I can’t wrap my head around it but my subwoofer doesn’t play any sound. Every other speaker seems to work fine and my sound is perfectly balanced otherwise. Any tips on how to fix this?

I've had my ML amp rebuilt by United Radio recently and the sub is sort of weak(post amp rebuild) if you ask me, the sound is there but just very muffled. I haven't done any actual checking but I am suspecting the foam surround on the sub has completely deteriorated causing a lack of bass. That being said I only have the bass slider on the audio controls set just about half way up, so that might have some impact on subwoofer operation.
In your case I'd probably check the sub physically to see if the voice coil is moving at all, if not it might be a wiring or an amp issue.

Some people replace them with 4ohm variants(Kicker/Alpine/etc.) I'm a fan of re-using/re-gluing the foam surround using the Simply Speakers repair kit.

I redid the foam surround but no joy, I'm guessing the voice coil is shot. I'd be more than happy to buy a 4ohm version but I have yet to find one that fits - any suggestions as in a model number of a woofer that fits?

Thanks in advance!
