Hello smart car people,
I have a 95 series prado 1kz-te that is not taking fuel from the sub tank when i flick the switch. The light on the sub tank fuel gauge comes on and the car does not stall or anything, it just keeps taking fuel from the main tank. I have a copy of the user manuals that have been shared here and i have gone digging for the "Low Temperature Sub Fuel Pump Relay" and the "Circuit Opening Relay" but they dont seem to exist in my vehicle (not sure if the manuals are for the petrol version?) Also went looking for the "Fuel Pump Select Relay" but its not present either.
My initial thoughts were that it could be a stuck relay causing the sub tank light to engage but then the relay wasnt switching the pumps. Im not 100% clear if the vehicle has a pump in each tank and then the relay activates either pump, or if there is a single pump and then some black magic happens to select which tank to pull form. Either way, kinda stuck and hoping for some advice, thanks all.
