I need to replace the stripped T case bolts with studs for the propeller rear engine mount V8 conversion...a few of the members mentioned there was thread in detail about doing the studs...cant seem to find any...
I don't wanna mess this up and I want to do it right so I can move on.leak free (haha):grinpimp:

My Plan:

1. tap up to the next size thread on t case
2. install proper length + size grade 8 threaded studs with locktight.
3. clean and install propeller mount and cover with RTV.
4. tighten down mount and cover plate with grade 8 nylock nuts

Please chime in if there is a better way.

I want to try this first....but If this doesn't work out I plan on ditching the propeller mount and having my bro fab me up a lower mount under the T350.

Any incite, pictures or experience be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time,
Benjamin

Sounds like a good enough plan. Take your time and use a good cutting fliud like "Rapid Tap" to get clean cut threads.

I got the studs from Marlin Crawler a long time ago.

Helicoil back to the original size for a stronger repair.

One more vote for ditching the AA mount

Ditching that AA mount was the best thing I ever did. There's a reason the bolts strip and things leak. Studs or bolts, it's a terrible way to mount it.
