For about the past month or month and a half my driver's door rear power window controls have been doing strange things. (To explain; they work as they should from their respective rear window controls, although a bit slower than normal due to age)

1. From the driver's door, if I operate the LR window button in either direction, nothing happens.
2. From the driver's door, if I operate the RR window button, they BOTH go down. Again, they will both operate only from the rear passenger window switch on my driver's panel. I'm mystified...

This just happened out of the blue. Not sure if some dampness caused this or what, however the last few weeks have been relatively dry around here; not sure what caused this. Ideas? Anyone had this happen before?

But what are the chances that 2 switches would go out at the same time 1 of which completely stops working and the other makes BOTH operate? So weird...

The switches are all housed in the same plastic casting. It's possible a piece has broken loose inside the casting causing a contactor to get dislodged and create the symptoms you are experiencing. I would definitely look at the switch and casting/housing as the culprit.

This is completely a guess. Don't the windows switches communicate to the body ECU via a multiplex bus? Could it be that the signal the switch is generating is fubar'd? You may not have two individual failures, but rather a single failure of the switch body to correctly transmit the command. Again, just a guess. I'm not too educated on how the bus thing works on the LC.
