odd.. I added a stock sender to my 5.0. The gauge reads correctly at first then drops down to zero. The connection is good at the sender.

I have a mechanical gauge hooked up to the distribution block and know I am getting about 60 psi at startup. And only dropping to ~ 45 psi at idle.

Quick fixes?

Put tape over the stock unit so you dont have to look at it:rolleyes:

WTF is wrong with the stock gauge functioning???

I knew about the temp/fuel press issue..

But I did not think the oil pres was associated as well..

I just went thru the same thing with my 6.0 turned out to be the sender unit..... be careful If you ground out the lead to the gauge to test the gauge it's self , if you do it for to long it will fry it ...........I learned the hard way :o

Mace, when you install the sender do not use any sealer (teflon tape) is interupts the ground.

(The sender has a tapered thread so it is self sealing, it is very close to 1/8 NPT)
