My Rochester leaks, the choke cable doesn’t mount up, I don’t want to deal with it anymore.

Looking for a good used or rebuilt stock carburetor for my 02/69 fj40.

Shipped to 94938 (California).

Thanks!

@ToyotaMatt has one that we did some horse trading for. It needed a rebuild. Not sure if he wants to part with it, assuming he has it still. I also have the intake/filter housing for that carb if you need that at well.

I think my intake and filter housing are correct, just not the carburetor itself.
I’ll hit him up if he doesn’t chime in here. 🙂

If you buy a carburetor in need of a rebuild, you may want to consider having the seller ship it in a very well cushioned box directly to @65swb45 for a pristine rebuild.

My thoughts exactly. I just screen shot his ph number 😉

2/69 would still be a 1bbl. Not a bad choice IMO. Most people gloss over the 1bbl; another aspect of @Mark W MIBS. A post ‘69 2bbl is also a good choice.
The 3/69-9/69 is a choice of last resort.

Is the one Toyota Matt posted correct for my month?

As stated above, generally the 2/69 has a 1 barrel since the 2 barrel only started a month later. OP's manifold will show which is correct. Practicalities follow the sage advice given by @65swb45 above.

I don't personally have a '69 so cannot offer better pictures than the seemingly correct NOS one above and other pictures posted.

A D40 would be technically correct. And if that’s what you decide you want, I have about 30 of them on the shelf that are available. Per my signature line, you can call me at the shop on Wednesday to followup.😉

I wondering what air cleaner the OP has? The 3/69-9/69 air cleaner only fits the matching date carburetor.

If going back to a stock one barrel carburetor depending on how the Rochester is mounted may be the adapter plate used on the 68-3/69 F145.
Carburetor on the left shows what you will if you don't have it.

After finally locating the correct Carburetor for my 68 will never run anything else.

I was hoping you’d post that pic John.😉 And thanks for mentioning the point about the air cleaner. I’m on vacation at the moment, so I am pleasantly distracted, even when I check in.
