2.25" pipe
I've got the center in center out model, #52455.
BUT, I would recommend the center in offset out or offset in offset out models 52457 and 52458, respectively. A quick measure of the factory muffler in/out offset would point you at the right one. This will make the install much simpler. Ask me how I know.

Offset should also be slightly quieter

Hmmm.
Hard to be certain, but I ran the center/center with the messy chop shop piping, and if anything I'd say this current setup with the offset is slightly louder. I figured it was because the turndown at the end of the pipe was slightly less "turned down." It also might be because the offset muffler is a 2.5" size, and the pipe may be too. I'll measure tomorrow.

@LouKY
Here's a clip accelerating up to ~60 mph. I think it's a pretty accurate representation of how it actually sounds sitting in the cab. Notice that wind noise dominates from about 50 mph, rather than the exhaust.
Again, earphones or speakers to really hear it.

@LouKY and others interested, here's my vid. I'll try to do another from further away in the back. I didn't have very good results with the one while driving.

Sound cool but not wife not wife approved

Very much wife approved here. She likes it a lot! I'm a lucky dude.

@92LXAZ and @Hayes - - Thanks guys. My wife won't approve of either so I'll just take my lumps once installed. I'll post up something when I get this mod in place.

I visited a local muffler shop over the weekend. Tomorrow I'm having a 24" Magnaflow installed and deleting the resonator. Quoted price was $250 (parts and labor). I'll post again once complete and I'll try to grab a quick stock exhaust recording for the before and after comparison.

So here is my quick take after the installation this afternoon.

I had Hi Way Muffler install a Magnaflow model #12286 and run a pipe straight back after that. The price came in just as expected and I'm very pleased with the result. I really wish I had done this immediately after buying my truck in March 2013, it sounds that much better. The easiest comparison is to a later model Tahoe/Yukon. There is a throaty V8 sound but I wouldn't say it is loud. In the video below I actually cracked the back two windows so you can hear the exhaust better.

Here is a shaky, 10 second cell phone clip to give you some idea of the sound (headphones suggested):
