Beautiful stock 1966 Toyota FJ40, 122k miles, very minimal rust. All exterior body panels and sills are strong and rust free. The only exception is two small rust rot spots on the forward part of both rear wheel wells, above the support bracket. I will add pics of those spots later. I got the FJ40 from the 1st owner, friend, runs and drives perfectly. I removed diamond plating and no rust behind. Stock in-line 6 engine w 3-speed manual tranny. $15,100.
Updated photos. Previous owner covered wheel well rust with some sweeeeet stainless steel plating. The wells are otherwise clean and rust is limited to behind brace as pictured from underneath. Doesn't look too bad, not very noticeable and don't need change it out for a daily driver. Limited to wheel wells only. Must be thinner gauge metal than exterior panels and floor boards because those are rust free. What do you guys think? I assume just leave it alone and let new owner replace if they want? Who sells best replacement metal for FJ's and what do they cost?
Thanks.
