Sometimes Murphy likes to kick a guy in the shins.... Getting ready to head down to the farm today and open the garage door to get some things ready and find a wet floor and a dripping ceiling, great in the exact same spot I fixed a condensate line this summer, so I removed my access panel and find lots of wet, but no leaking pipes or anything.... then notice the water is coming from above :censor: Realize the upstairs bathroom is almost directly above the spot.... So I go and cut a big A$$ hole in the wall of the bonus room to find that the faucet connection has decided to let go while my MIL was taking a shower this morning.... fortunately I think I got it and now I have to figure out how to fix the faucet (looks like a bad O-ring) and make sure I get everything dried out.

Currently have a box fan sitting in front of the hole drawing air up and out of the space, gonna let that run all day and hope it dries things out. The suck part is we are planning to put the house on the market in a couple months anyway, why couldn't it have held out just a little longer, then it could have been someone else's problem.

Oh well, that's life I guess.

Ha, my parents had something similar. Put their house on the market, then all that snow Ohio got last year caved in roof and caused leak. They had to peel everything off both outer & inner. Then a week later the hot water heater went out.

That stuff usually comes in 3's for me. My dad always tells me it's just a life test. Take a deep breath, sip of beer & keep going.

Thanks Sean. Got a little flustered and kinda lost my focus. Betsy is also being temperamental and not starting just great so getting to the farm today was a chore and I didn't get much done except just piddling around. At least they got our slab poured this week.

I was pleased with how it came out and hope to get the top on soon.

Hannah also shot her .22 for the first time today, well she pulled the trigger while I was helping hold it. She seemed to like it, so I think we will have some fun when it dries out and warms up.

On some advice from a fellow MUD'R I think Betsy has a starter issue, so I'm gonna pick up a new one and see if that fixes her up.

Anybody in the Mid-TN area know where to find information about HAM license testing? @radioridge @DSLTOY either of you know wher I can get some info on when I could take the test, etc.

I ordered a little handheld unit and though I know the odds of getting caught using one up on the side of a mtn to talk to the tail-gunner is slim, it is kind of crazy since it is so cheap to get licensed.

It is Friday night, it has been snowing/ sleeting all week, it has been below freezing all week AND it is currently raining/ sleeting..... I have a barn I need to finish and lots of other projects that need attention and while I have been getting to and from work most of the week, I am getting a little stir crazy and I am afraid I am going to find some new project on the interwebs and end up with something at my door that will just be another iron to prop up beside the already overloaded fire. Any suggestions? :)

Start smoking fine cigars and drinking expensive brandy. Both are consumable so there's nothing to prop up by the perverbial fire

Funny you should mention that, I have tried to like bourbon and brandy and just can't get on board, but I do have a decent stash of better than average cigars, and had planned to smoke one tonight, but it is effin 40* in the garage and it was nearly 9 by the time I got little bit to bed so the idea has kind of left me. I just need a couple of decent days back to back to make some decent barn progress, hell at this point I'd be happy to just have a couple days above freezing.

I understand, I like a couple days without icy roads, at the moment we are shut down in MO because of ice, it's been like this all friggen week.

I can imagine. Glad you all are safe. I hope the rain that is coming in tonight and tomorrow washes this $h!t out of here so we can get back to some normalcy.

IT'S STILL WINTER TIME

Yes it is, but the average high this time of year for TN is in the mid/ high 40s with lows in the high 20s/ low 30s. This 5 days straight of below freezing HIGHS is for the effin birds. I mean my dam sunroof drain lines on the 80 froze and I found a big puddle in the back seat floor board on the DS tonight....
