You could have at least two or three possible problems.

All of the solutions involve removing the clutch assy and sprocket. The nut comes off to the right and do not use an impact wrench. Keep track of which washer comes of firt and last.

Once you get the srocket off, there are are two versions of the oiler gear.

The first and oldest version has a pin that connects the drive sprocket to the oiler drive gear. The pin wears and will shear off. Simply replace the oiler drive plate that has the pin pressing inot it.

The newer version has two "Ears" or lugs that connect the pin to the oiler drive gear. The lugs may have worn off. Replace the oiler drive gear.

If those all look good we can go deeper into the saw.

thanks for the response Dan,I was reading around on the internet and came to the conclusion I will have to get the clutch off. Also read some of your other posts about useing rope(hazards) instead of a piston stop.I may take it down to the saw shop and see if i can get them to take it off for me.
is it worth it in your opinion to buy the wrench?I have seen one on ebay for about 15$

got the tool and got the clutch off and the plate under it.I take it the oil seal needs to come off next?

Looks like you have the newer style oiler drive gear. That round metal thing on the crtanshaft with the Tabs that look like Mickey Mouse ears is the oiler drive gear. It pulls out by gently turning to the left. Pull it out and make sure there are still teeth on it.
