I would like to replace my stereo on my 93 FJZ80. It currently has double sized unit with a tape player, radio and non-functioning CD player. I think that this is the stock unit.
I would like to replace it with a double sized CD player, that will also play MP3's and preferably one that includes an AUX input on its face. I don't think I need a tape player anymore. I would consider one that is satellite radio ready, but I am not going to put Satellite Radio in now.
Other than that, I don't need anything fancy.
Does anybody have any recommendations?
I did a search and found out that some OEM units have a seperate amplifier. Would mine be seperate? If so, would I need to replace it with a seperate amp, or can I use an all-in one unit? Or could I use the old amp with a new head unit?
I know seperate amps have more power and better sound, but I doubt that I really need that given my ever advancing age.
