I bought a new stereo for christmas for my bj60. i pulled out the old 3 button am/fm radio to find a smaller opening than i thought would be there. the new stereo fits in the opening however the old brackets won't work. can anyone tell me where I might buy the brackets for my 84. thanks

as far as I know no-one make a bracket to swap the radio. You have to fabricate something or get one of the consoles that has a radio mount (DIN Opening).

I am confused. What is an 84? Is that the year of your vehicle? What I did was insert the sleeve that comes with the stereo, pressing in what tabs I could, and then back strapped it so it would be snug even in bumpy rocks off road.

The end. :)

got a strap on the back of mine too. Also got an abs trim plate that snugs up the front side and really cleans it up. Ihad to cut and shape it to fit.

if you are reading this and haven't done it yet, i would recommend putting masking tape on the edges of the dash around the entire stereo slot to protect it. with putting in the strap and making the trim piece, you have to take the unit in and out many times, and it is easy to get a mucked up dash with marks that will never go away. just ask me to see mine.
