When looking for pictures on the forum there were very few pictures of the Redarc tow-pro installation process on 2016+ LX570. There were a few steps that aren't present in the Landcruiser, at least based on the posts, hope this helps!

Step 1: Remove the two screws at the bottom of the driver side panel.

Left side screw:

Right side screw:

Lower panel removed:

Step 2: Remove two 10mm bolts on the left and right side of the main lower panel. This panel surrounds the knee airbag.

Left bolt is behind this plastic trim piece which opens downards

Step to skip: There is a small rectangular trim piece below the left hand buttons and above the coin holder, there is no need to take this out and recommend skipping this step.

Step 3: Use a trim removal tool to remove the main lower trim piece, its snapped in place across the left, middle, and right

Step 4: remove the gas and hood open levers from the trim piece, it slides and moves down and easily comes out

Step 5: remove the empty switch and install mounting panel for Toyota (part 331-TPSI-002)

Step 6: Locate the trailer brake controller connector, mine was on the left most side, wrapped in brown tape, and connected to a dummy connector

Up close view of the brake controller and connected to the dummy connector (note with a flash light it looks orange, without flashlight the tape is brown)

Attaching trailer brake controller: I used double sided 3M tape to attach to the silver box behind the OBD connector.

Connecting cable (I soldered the two wires, added shrink wrap, added electrical tape over the shrink wrap, and then put all of it in a wire loom)

I’d add step 0: disconnect ground and wait 15 minutes. You don’t want airbags going off.

Oh wow, I had no idea! Thanks for adding!

My “upcoming week” turned into more like two months…

So, a quick follow up since I did the install today.

The photo walkthrough (and reminder to disconnect the ground) were very helpful and reassuring during the install. So thank you once again @stonekutters (and @CharlieS ).

Thank you! I've got mine siting on the shelf waiting for some free time to install this summer.
