What are my best options for having my steering wheel recovered? The leather is torn.

I see "sheepskins" on amazon. Is that a good deal? Look and feel ok?

Another thought was to have buy another steering wheel from a junkyard, and replace my current one. Then have current wheel recovered and reinstalled.

Any thoughts or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Phil

To further elaborate and somewhat answer your question: your best option depends on your budget, and the your goal. If you don't care that it doesn't look absolutely stock and it's a little thicker then go for the wheelskins product. If you really don't care how it looks then go ahead and get a sheepskin cover, that will also feel vastly different. If you want it to look and feel absolutely factory you can either have it re-covered by a professional, or you can just purchase an entirely new wheel. The choice is yours though and it boils down to personal preference and price range. In regards to price from least to most I think it would be: sheepskin (or the like), then wheelskins product, then re-covering or new wheel. Hope this helps.

I believe a want a professional job. Someone posted that it could be done for around $300. That sounds fair to me.

Now to find that spare wheel while mine is temporarily removed.:)
