Sources for new leather seat and steering wheel covers?

Pics kinda say it all. I want to REPLACE, not cover over. I’m good with some DIY, but can’t sew anything this heavy. The steering wheel wrap should be the kind that includes the spokes. Good, high-quality sources for this stuff?

Bonus points if I can find new driver side seat pan foam. Or can I swap it with the passenger side?

There's a couple of good threads on replacement leather with suggested brands. For the steering wheel, many are using the Lonkey cover, but some have found replacements on Ebay or sent theirs in to be replaced. There's suggested threads on both down below too.

My seats were like that when I got the truck at 150k miles. Steering wheel was actually worse.

For the wheel, I did a wheelskins cover which was good quality but still didn’t feel right. Adds too much girth to the wheel. I ended up replacing the wheel with the one mentioned here in this thread. Around $350 and install is easy. Still happy with it and wish I’d done it sooner:

The seats, I covered immediately and never looked back. Which is not your plan, understood. But if you get sick of looking for a good replacement leather option, both the SOR and Escape Gear covers are great.

US Sheepskin is a local supplier that can make a fitted set of color matched sheepskin covers. They’re a little spendy, but American-made and cheaper than upholstery. That’s my plan B.

I just ordered 2 front bottom seat covers, 2 armrest covers, and center console cover from Wolf Hotrod Customs. Ordered a new drivers side seat cushion from Serra Toyota. Really looking forward to installation!

Current sale at Serra Toyota showed the DS seat cushion at 190.00.

You can also steam out the cushions. I did replace my seat cushion at 280k miles, but I steamed the others and they did come back to life.

I used Ridies covers. I've been pleased for the money. They are known for poor customer service, though, but then I would use them again. You can pay 50-100% more and get better customer service, I suppose. Just make sure you do a good inspection of the covers when you receive them so you have leverage with the credit card company and can return if necessary.

I cannot recommend a replacement factory seat cushion more! The difference is incredible. With two 100s of the same year to compare, one with a replacement seat cushion and the other one stock (with a new seat cushion purchased during the last Toyota big sale waiting for install), the difference in comfort is unbelievable, especially on longer drives. If you're going to replace the leather cover, it's well worth the extra $200.

I'm glad I spotted this thread. I may pick up a Wolfman's. However, dropping another 2 bills on a new cushion is hard to take. That puts you at like $500 just to fix one seat bottom...

Land Cruiser owners "pay to play"! I believe that 90% of LC/LX owners, own a secondhand truck. Me included. I think we spend all this money, so we get to see how parts of our vehicle felt like the day they were driven off the lot. Lol!

He has center console covers as well as armrests that are not listed on his site. He adds a layer of foam on the underside of his covers, and I didn't replace my foam seat base. Great guy, and has been doing automotive upholstery for decades.

My LX is a secondary vehicle that's planned use for now is for boat and trailer hauling at the family cabin. It's also to be a working project. I haven't decided the final version yet but I have plenty of essentials that need fixing before I decide on that. I took a closer look at the drivers seat back today. I didn't seem that bad next to the seat bottom but when you really look at it, the back should also be replaced. It's on the list right after new accumulators and steering column motors...

Appreciate that. I bet he would. He doesn’t advertise the armrests or console but he makes them. Super nice guy I would give him a call.

Thank you for that link. I have to say I just clicked on the LX upholstery link. I see now there's a page two with that LC upholstery. I wonder what the difference is between the LX and LC. Perhaps just color... I'll have to give him a call.

Upon closer examination, I see the stitching between the two is different. But, if he can stitch an LC back cover I guess he can stitch an LX back cover.
