today I installed this steering wheel in the TLC100, the buttons on the left side all work. The buttons on the right side can also be brought to the radio by soldering on the board.
great steering feel

It can also be installed in any Toyota / Lexus, only I will need to replace and re-pin the connector.

Looks good, how hard was it to get the horn to work?
Also curious about the seat fabric you have

the easiest thing is to connect the horn.

These covers were made to order by a seamstress. We have this service in demand, we can choose any color and material (velor, leather, alcantara...)

Can you use something like an SWI-RC from Pac Audio to get audio controls to function on an aftermarket radio while simultaneously retaining the OEM cruise with this wheel?

I don't need an SWI-RC from Pac Audio. since basically all radios are made in China and they don't need these adapters. Everything connects directly via Toyota OEM connectors to the radio. SWI-RC from Pac Audio are needed mainly for radios like Kenwood, Sony, Alpine, where there is only one wire for steering wheel buttons via a digital channel. Modern Pioneer, JVC basically all have a steering wheel button settings item in the settings menu, by resistive type, and thus do not need the SWI-RC type from Pac Audio.

I presume this means my aftermarket Chinese-made Alpine iLX-W650 would require the aforementioned SWI-RC to function with an LC200 wheel. Thanks for the information. Being that my OEM steering wheel was bent during improper installation after being wrapped I think I will go this route. Cheers!

look at the wiring and wiring diagram of your Alpine.

The rear of the radio and instruction manual just shows a female input of 3.5mm for SW controls.

Look in the settings of the radio if there is an item - setting the joystick / setting the steering wheel buttons. I think that you can connect the steering wheel buttons directly through the 3.5mm mini jack. without adapter.

I never thought of that. I will look later I have the same unit currently installed in my Sequoia so I will look through the menu and see if it allows for that. If memory serves it might be locked out but I think I can source a boot file and maybe access it that way. Thanks!

Have you got a toyota part number for the horn pad and steering wheel at all. What what method did you use to connect the steering wheel controls just the 3.5mm jack adaptor harness or something else. Also did you need a new clock spring?

if in the radio settings there is an item with programming the steering wheel buttons, then I use only a 3.5mm mini jack along with a 20pin female connector for a Toyota 20pin male connector.
if there is no steering wheel button settings item in the radio settings and only one wire comes out on the back wall, it is usually blue with a yellow stripe, then you need to buy an adapter like SWI-RC from Pac Audio, etc.
A new clockspring does not always need to be changed if it has enough free pins, and if there are 10 and 12 pin connectors and knowledge of the pinout of these connectors, so that in the end everything works. for example, on this steering wheel there is a connector from buttons for 12 pins and it can only be installed on a restyled Prado 150 or TLC200 from 2016, while you need to buy a clock spring also for 12 pins.
if I want to install this steering wheel in a GX470 or TLC100 restyling, then the connector is also for 12 pins, only the pins do not match in location and I need to repin.
If I want to install this steering wheel in Sequoia / Tundra / TLC200 2008 pre-styling, then I will need to change the connector to 10 pin on the steering wheel buttons. Also, this steering wheel can be installed on old Toyotas of the late 90s, for example, the TLC100, which does not have steering wheel buttons from the factory. just need to run the wiring from the radio to the clock spring and change the pins on the steering wheel button connector for the clock spring as there the clock spring only has 4 or 6 pins. you need at least 6 pins to be in the clock spring on older versions of toyota / lexus. late 90s and early 2000s. I hope everything is clear, I typed the text through the translator.

Yeah mate it makes some what sense. And If got any questions I’ll make sure to ask. I got a 2005 hdj100 with no steering wheel controls and my headunit supports programable buttons through the 3.5mm jack option so I won’t need a PAC unit.
I’ll have to do some digging to find where I can get a clock spring from. Which will either be the local car wreckers or brand new online.

before you buy a new clock spring, remove the airbag and take a photo, see how many pins you have in your clock spring.

Hey there,

currently trying to accomplish the same or at least a similar thing. At a minimum I would like to be able to adjust the volume(+/-) and skip(</>) a track. Happy to have the controls just on one side if I can find a cover for the other side.

Im starting with:

Land Cruiser 200 steering wheel, model year 2016+, 12-Pin connector
IMG_1534.JPG

HDJ100, model year 2001 - 6-Pin clock spring
IMG_1636 2.JPG

Kenwood DMX5020DABS - 2-4 SWC specific cables

Where I am at, is that I definitely need the following to make the new steering wheel work without the controls, are the following parts:
WIRE, CRUISE SWITCH
Part number: 8463360040
SWITCH ASSY, CRUISE CONTROL MAIN
Part number: 8463234011

Happy to find cheap china or amazon parts until I figured out what worked.

My current plan is to put some sort of module into the steering wheel core and reuse the 2 remaining cables of the original 6-pin connector to run ST Remote Input 1 and 2 to the headunit.

@ZIDCONPRO , do you have any idea or input based on your experience if that at all is possible and maybe how to tackle this?
I have tried to contact PVS Automotive in Australia, as they said it would be Plug&Play for a 100 Series, but it turned out that is not entirely true as they want me to buy a new clockspring and from my research I know that my cruise control lever wont fit, nor would my airbag detonator work with a newer clockspring without soldering.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Additional questions:
Are the controls on the 200 steering wheel illuminated?
Any ideas on how to change the symbols on buttons?

you can make the cruise control work (but for this you need to buy another cruise control, and you will also need to disassemble it, remove the resistors and solder other resistors, as well as add another wire in order for everything to work) It's a delicate job...
also, in your case, it is possible to make the radio control work and the steering wheel buttons light up (they will glow blue)
if necessary, I can replace it with a white/green backlight.

I sometimes use the right buttons for cruise control (I need soldering on the board) so I won't need to buy a new cruise control. if you want, I can make these plig and play buttons for you. The package will also include wiring from clock spring to the radio.

Hey mate know this post is a couple of years old but I just bought a 300 series steering wheel and I am wanting to connect it to my new pioneer headunit do you know if I need a wireless adapter for it and if not what do you recommend me using to make the buttons work my headunit uses a aux cord for the controls

That indeed sounds like a delicate job.

So I have bought a chinese Cruise Control lever but it doesnt work properly. I got the Buttons on the left side of the steering wheel to work. Thats where I am currently stuck.

Would you be able to get a chinese Cruise Control lever and do the modifications to it and then ship it to me? If so, feel free to send me a quote via private message (if that is allowed around here).

I'm also looking for a blank cover to replace the buttons on the right side of the steering wheel, as I dont need those.
