I installed a 2013-2018 style steering in my 08 Landcruiser today. Went for the all leather because of simplicity and grip. Really modernized the car a lot. Happy to know I’ve retained all precious steering wheel button functions. Happy to have gotten the confidence to do it by myself. The only thing not mentioned on the videos is that the clock spring rotated by itself once the steering wheel frame is removed. Need to be careful not to move it after the old steering wheel is removed.

That indeed sounds like a delicate job.

So I have bought a chinese Cruise Control lever but it doesnt work properly. I got the Buttons on the left side of the steering wheel to work. Thats where I am currently stuck.

Would you be able to get a chinese Cruise Control lever and do the modifications to it and then ship it to me? If so, feel free to send me a quote via private message (if that is allowed around here).

I'm also looking for a blank cover to replace the buttons on the right side of the steering wheel, as I dont need those.
I can change the new cruise control for your LC100.

So you bought a new updated 200 series steering wheel and it plugged into all your 2008 model plugs? That updated steering wheel looks awesome

today I installed this steering wheel in the TLC100, the buttons on the left side all work. The buttons on the right side can also be brought to the radio by soldering on the board.
great steering feel

It can also be installed in any Toyota / Lexus, only I will need to replace and re-pin the connector.

Hey mate,
To get the right side to work what exactly do you mean solder the board? Ive just installed this exact wheel to my LC79 and used a 12 pin clock spring to hook her up I've got a key 1 (pin 5) and 2 (pin 6) and that's going to a android Joying headunit.
Cheers.

Hey, I mean soldering for those buttons that go to manage and configure the LC200 cluster. As well as lane tracking buttons. These are the buttons on the right side, I use soldering on the board to redirect them to work with the android head unit.

What clock spring did you go with?

Sorry I think I'm being a bit dense. I sorta get that you have to join the right side wiring to the left to redirect them. I'm a bit unsure as to what to join and what board you mean? wouldn't it be easier to join the wires straight from the switches within the wheel pre clock spring?
again sorry for being dumb I get confused easily.

If you see a part number on it, would you mind posting?

I've just had a google for you mate, from what I can tell it is 84306-0K051 has a few part numbers but I recon this one is the most relevant. just got to make sure its a 12 pin plug and that it can take a steering angle sensor on the back. 99% sure that this would be the same as I've used.

Hey guys, not sure if you can assist?! Doing some searching online and came across this post. Seems like a few of you have re-pinned wiring to get things to work! Excuse the long post, trying to give as much info as possible.

I have just got a new 2024 steering wheel from a GDJ 79 series Landcruiser from a friend who upgraded to leather. I've worked out all the wiring on the 100 series Sahara loom INTO the column/clock spring (bar two black wires on the C33 connector - pins 7 & 8 that weren't connected to the steering wheel anyway) worked out and have a 12 pin clock spring so enough pins to get all wires through clock spring back to the column...

The new wheel has 8 wires but I'm having trouble finding any reference to them on the Toyota tech manuals which I assume is because it is too new a vehicle. Can any one assist with their specific purpose so I can make up my own loom to the adapter I'm using to my aftermarket head unit? The left side has black, brown, grey and red wires (with the grey and red traveling over to the rights side buttons. The right side has pink, purple, yellow and green wires. From looking on earlier model year tech diagrams, brown was earth, red is 12v, grey is acc/ign and green is illumination but that doesn't seem logical in so much as the illumination, earth and power wires would be shared for both sets of buttons? Guess the earth could be achieved through the column like the horn. I have the wiring for the cruise and horn already sorted.

If any one has any ideas would be very much appreciated!

Cheers,

Ross.

Do you mind sharing the part # on your clock spring and how many turns it's rated for? Thank you.

Hi, I have two clock springs that look identical. One from the original 2004 HZJ base model and one from the donor 2004 HDJ Sahara They both have 12 pins and are from Aus spec cruisers (the original doesn't have continuity across two pins though so believe it's damaged). Can't see any part number on them though other than this sticker. Both have 5 full turns, 2.5 either side of centre position inictator.
