I am about to finish putting my steering back together and can't slide the two pieces #630 together.

Both pieces are grooves but don't want to slide together easily. Thought I would ask if there is a trick before I put more force into it. There is line on the front female piece but not on the male piece. I didn't mark them either since I took the entire steering system apart.

Any ideas? Thanks.

If I remember correctly? I believe it is an indexed spline. Or in plain English it will only go together ONE way. Hint: look for the spline on the shaft that looks different from the rest, then look into the u-joint side for the matching groove and slide them together.

How bout removing the grease fitting so the air can get out of the way?
