Started the search for a 40/45

I've put it off for over 15 years, and now its time to look. Hoping for some feedback here and maybe you guys can help me search as well.

Probably like most I'm hoping for a minimal rust candidate. I've had plenty of experience with rust (ex-Clevelander) but would rather not deal with crumbling metal again. A little doesn't really scare me.

Looking for 1975+ w/4spd. Not interested in Chevy conversions. Not interested in lifts or big tires. Not looking for a basket case. Eventually would plan discs, p/s, a/c, maybe a locker.

I have a 10 minute commute, so it would get me to work a few days a week. Mild trail machine. 3rd vehicle. Might eventually complete frame-off resto.

Budget... $3k-$8k

I'm watching MUD, as well as CL in AZ,LV,NM,CA and TX. Other postings to watch? Obviously local is preferred.

Check this listing out from Tucson. Don't know if it's still available. Make sure you check out the individual cities in AZ on CL too. Some times there are listing that only come up on the local search. Also use multiple search words (i.e. "FJ", "Cruiser", "Land"). The true deals are the ones that only a few people see. Take advantage of people's in-ability to place good ads.

no, never in Tim's yard. Sean B. bought Miles 1962 whitish soft top- so it still lives here in Tucson.

Jon, sorry I missed your post asking about specs. Being that it's late right now and i'm on the laptop I'll wait till tomorrow to post up the rundown. That truck on eBAY is on an entirely differnt level than my truck. again... I'll explain more tomorrow when I'm on a pc with a normal keyboard.

I am planning a trip down to visit Tim in marana for parts in a couple of weeks, Jon why don't you ride along and shop his wares? I have seen entire cruisers put together in an afternoon from various peices, frame, body, moter/ tranny, etc. That is if he doens't have a couple of runners in the condition you are looking for already together.
