I'm tired of having to set and wait for the guys at the tire shop so I can make sure they use the correct lug centric adapter. I've been looking at the Toyota SST oline order site but cannot tell which adapter is for the pre '98 land cruisers. Anyone know which one it is or if there is another place I can get a Haweka adapter?

According to the application notes on the OTC website, none of those works with models prior to the UZJ100.

Im sure they know what there doing. Have some faith mate.

HA!! I know how to use the machines better than they do and that is just straight bull! I've only found 3 guys that know exactly what they are doing. One at a NTB in San Antonio, one at NTB Waco and one at the Discount in Ft. Collins CO.

I have a lifetime balance on my truck at NTB and lifetime on my crusier from discount. And I'm not happy with either shops. Half the time the tech guys give me a blank look when I tell them my wheels need the lug centric adapter and NONE know to use that adapter for Toyota wheels.

I just want to have my own adapter that I can give them to use along with the Sevice Bulletin that Toyota put out calling for its use.

Just to rant on some more. I just got back from Discount and I have another story......

Guy comes to me and tells me they will only balance the front out of courtesy. Seems the tech tells him my tires are dated 12/04 and my lifetime balance was purchased 8/04.......

WTF I say, hell no and you will balance all my tires or I can go home and get all my receipts. Ok well lets look it up in the computer.....blah blah. I stop him there and tell him to show me this serial number that states the tires are made 12/04. Sure enough 1204 is right there and he looks at me.......and before his dumass can open his mouth, I tell him that means the 12th WEEK of 2004!

Then the light clicks on in his head and I get a load of bull apologies.

COME ON!

Can you post the service bulletin on lug centric adapters?
thx

What's this all about? It's the first I've seen this deal mentioned. They have to use the adaptor to get accurate results when balancing?

YES. PERIOD.

Next time you balance your tires, use the hub centric cone and watch the wheel spin. I assure you it will not spin true and you will be able to clearly see it. Or just do a set of test spins with the cone, each will give you different results.

Slap the lug centric adapter on and you will get consistent results. I cannot tell you the difference this adapter makes.

Also use the Hunter GSP 9000 road force machine to align the heavy/light spots of the wheel to the tires and you will have a factory smooth ride.

I really like the part at the bottom about driving to warm up the nylon cord tires... I have NEVER seen this done by any tire shop - wham, bam, thank you mam!
