Sounded like squealing/ for la couple of seconds. 90 degrees. Car is not cold. Any idea? Recently changed the belts. They are not loose.

It's the belts:flipoff2:
Fess up, what kind of belts did you get?:bounce:

Sometimes dust from gravel travel will cause belts to slip on start up.

Yea ac is on. Let me try turning it off. It's OEM belts. Are my belts too tight?

Belts are likely too loose. I've been adjusting mine so that there's about a half inch deflection when I push on them with very firm pressure

I have squealing from time to time too. I heard that if it squeals on start up, it is your alternator belts

Hmm my new belts are pretty tight. About 1/2 in.

Is your A/C turn on when you start it up?

It happens when my AC is on when start up.

Tighten up the belt. Go underneath the PS side. Loosen the bolt that locks the threaded tensioner in place and then turn the threaded tensioner till its tight like your fan belts. Pretty much the same procedure as the fan belts when you did your clutch.

Belts too loose!

Aerosol (Permatex) Belt Dressing, sprayed with engine running will help soften the glaze, improve grip, and quiet aftermarket (Gates) belts which, theoretically, should fit fine.

Sometimes newly installed belts aren't re-adjusted after 100 miles so, slip and develop heat glaze.

I just threw on a fresh set of OEM belts, and got 80,000 miles out of the last set. They still looked fine, but were starting to make noise.

I like to save money on consumable parts, as much as the next guy, but belts, ignition parts, and oil filters...I like to go OEM. Seems to save money in the long run.:steer:

OEM belts are NOT expensive... just FYI. Many of us know that, but for those of you trying to save a buck, this isn't the place :)
