So I've had this front end squeak on my '93 for about a year now that I can't seem to get rid of. I've tightened every bolt and nut on the front suspension, replaced all the bushings etc. - to no avail (yes - the cat shield too). It just seems to chirp with suspension movement - not with each actual bump ... just when driving. So I've decided maybe my front shocks are just gone .... it does have 150k on it :D So anyway - I was wondering if I could go ahead and put OME N73 shocks on the front now, since I'm planning on a lift soon? Anyone see a problem with this ... or any other thoughts on this damn squeaking?

Those will work at stock height. I would not recommend changing shocks on just one axle, it is possible that the handling will be adversely affected. Do both ends with matching shocks.

I had a squeak that I was certain came from the suspension. However, lubricating all sorts of bits and pieces never made it go away.

One weekend I replaced my exhaust from the cat back and I tightened up my front body mounts. The squeak was gone. I don't know which intervention helped, but my advice would be to make sure your body mounts are tight.
