Anyone out there have info on the splitcase differences I have what the PO said is a 83-84 bj60 splitcase I need gears for it Are other years compatable or can I only use 83=84. Or am I better off dumping it for another?

4/'85 is the year/date change.... notice the idler shaft size difference..... you can use either one as long as you change case and all......
38 mm t-case gear tooth count
Idler, small gear - 24 teeth
idler, large gear - 43 teeth
input gear - 32 teeth
high gear (on main shaft) - 32 teeth
low gear (on main shaft) - 41 teeth
And just for grins the PTO - 31 teeth
34mm T-Case
Idler, small gear - 25 teeth
Idler, large gear - 45 teeth
Input gear - 34 teeth
High gear (on main shaft) - 34 teeth
Low gear (on main shaft) - 43 teeth

Are you sure about the year/date change? I have a 9/85 which has the 34 mm idler shaft.
...my bad... 4/'86.....
But I also have 3/86 and the original t-case is a 38 mm. Maybe a little transitional slop around these dates
