it will fit but the hood prop is off to one side on the older hood and there is no safety catch on the older hood either.none of my 65 hoods have w shield bumpers or holdowns for the w shield .if these are not an issue then it will fit .good luck
 
Will a split hood fit 1980 and up 40....is the cowl apron and bib the same dimensions.

Safety catch is on the front bib not the hood. It just catches the front lip of the hood. The hood prop is in the center of the early hood. The later hood has if on the left side. The seam on the two piece hood (early) may be in the way of the air cleaner on the US version 2F. The 45s and hard top models didn't have the hood pads of hold downs for the windshield in the early years. The early soft top models did. The hold down on the side are in the same location except for the FJ25s and the very early FJ40s with the intake on the side of the apron.:cheers:
