NOT MINE

Toyota : Land Cruiser:eBay Motors (item 220436916063 end time Jun-24-09 12:55:13 PDT)

Hard times force me to sell this true legend. Very rare and hard to find because there were only 61 sold in the U.S. in 1959. I've had this machine since 2005. I won it here on e-bay, towed it home on a tow dolly and I didn't think I'd ever sell it but things do change. I started it a few times the year I bought it but once I tucked it away and covered it, I didn't get back to it. Sounds like several of my projects.

This FJ25 has a Chevy 6 cyl but everything else is original. The brake and clutch masters are now shot so, they will need a rebuild as well. It really wouldn't take that much to get it on the road again. It is in great condition, body and frame are solid. It has a tailgate which I've always liked on a cruiser. I have a few of the soft top parts but I don't have the soft top itself. Please ask any questions you have. I will post pictures later this evening. I might be able to deliver to Southern California or Eastern Nebraska for an additional fee. Payment must be received prior to it leaving my driveway.

I've increased the starting bid because someone just told me the number 8 before the frame number indicates that this might be considered a 1958 FJ25 which there was only 1 sold in the U.S. in 1958. Either way, you can't go wrong owning one of 62 FJ's sold in the U.S. in the first two years of sales. Its dirty and has been sitting but it can be brought back to life very easy....

The orange one is #21 in the count thread. The difference in the bib is that someone had removed the three crossbars and put a FJ40 bezel on it. The new owner partially fixed it.

As far as comparing the two for originality, it's a tossup. Neither is original. :bang:

And.......nevermind. :censor:

Those are the worst set of pics in an Ebay ad that I've ever seen... You cant even tell what it is.

I agree! Also the poor pics and paint job cover up the hole cut in the dash for a speaker, and they painted over the glove box door handle and didn't mask the high beam indicator very well either!
Non original engine, no headlight bezels or slats, and where is the air intake on the driver's side apron that a 25 should have?
The more you look at it, the value keeps dropping, as well as the price when he gets no bids on it.
my .02 worth

The intake on the side was a oil bath cleaner intake. If the 25 came with a paper element filter it wouldn't have the intake on the side. A few of the 61 FJ40s had the intake too. My guess this was paper element. The hood has the holes for the Tbird orament and the hold down hooks on the side are to far forward for the side intake.

Rear tail lights are non stock but at least it still has the tail light brackets. Front bumper is non stock too. Looks to be off a FJ55. No rear seats, soft top bows and doors. I'm there more.

Price is down to $8,000. Still way to high in my opinion.

Last time he said this would be teh last time on ebay. I guess not. It's back again. this time starting at $5,900

Wow, that's a boat load less than what it had sold for on Ebay way back. Should start it at a $1 with no reserve to see what the market really is. ;)Remember back when the orange and lemon one were up about the same time, sporting FJ40 bezels?

I think the yellow one had white jump seats and had a early 70s (73?)power train. Were they in the 8-9K range? Made me feel like I got a bargin on white one.

Yup, saw it also.

OK, what would you guys pay for such a rig?

With a chevy 6, and just for the way it looks, I'd be hard pressed to spend more than $2900...maybe more if the frame was perfect, and I was sure the rest was in decent shape.

Am I out of line?

now that I've got one with nearly all original parts, I personally would not pay more than $1000 for that one, maybe less considering the repaint.:meh:

in seeing first hand just how hard it is coming up with the parts necessary to bring a vehicle like this back to original, it's hard not to look at a rig like this as either a parts car or potential trail rig, both with significately less value. just my 2 cents though.

I literally spent probably 6-7yrs looking before I broke down and bought my first cruiser, then as luck would have it the rest almost fell into my lap. 4 out of 6 of my present cruisers I would consider having near perfect timing/lots of luck, however one personally views these things.;)

seemingly my patience has paid off so far:beer:

Looks like someone pulled the trigger at $5900. Was it someone here? ;)

As "My Wife" pointed out, asking price made it as low as $5400. I wonder if h***h saw it dip that low. Seller kept playing with the first bid price to get a hit.
