My 92 came with the 'optional' 235/75-15's. With the 275/75-16's that are on it now I'm off almost 10%. Is it possible to drop in a gear from the 31 X 10.5 or from you newer vehicle guys buying Slee's gear for the 35's? Are they the same gear for the 91-92's and the 93+? Sorry, buying the Truespeed for $200 does not seem worth it in my opinion but if I could find a cheap gear someone has upgraded from it would be worth a post to the wanted board.

Lift it and toss on some 33's and you'll have the opposite problem. Then buy a gps so you see the real speed and can find your way to the motel when your wife boots you out :D

O.k. I gotta know, is this a personal experience? ;)

Anyway, why would 33's cause the opposite? Ohh...I think I see. No, when the vehicle was delivered to port it came with the smaller tires. I picked up a set of Lexus wheels and put on 265/75's. The larger tire is what is now on the vehicle, i.e my speedometer reads 10% to low.

I'm curious, do you know how many teeth your speedo gear has?

Vehicles with 235 tires have an 11 tooth drive gear and a 33 tooth driven gear. In order to correct yours you will need to get a 12 tooth drive drive gear and a 32 tooth driven gear from a 93-97. Changing the driven gear is easy, the drive gear requires tearing into the transfer case.

Bummer!
