Has anyone had a problem with a speed sensor going out on the Front End? I have had my 2009 LC200 at the local dealership for a week now. They had to order the sensor; now they are claiming that the ABS is not "seeing" the new speed Sensor. Needless to say, I am not dealing with the sharpest knives in the drawer, nor have they ever dealt with a LC200. Since they dont have the LC200 "diagrams", they had to request them to be emailed from Toyota. Now I'm being told that the diagrams are taking a while to get emailed b/c Toyota's system is so back logged b/c of this lovely gas pedal/prius brake pedal problem. My LC has about 31,000 miles on it. Right before this, I had just installed:
· OME701; Medium Load Spring, (Up To 220 lbs) 1" Lift, FRONT
· OME 60029 Nitrocharger Sport Shock, Rear
· OME722 Medium Load - .75" Lift Spring, REAR

· OME 90005 Nitrocharger Sport Shock, Front
  • OME661 Rear Shock Stone Guard.
Needless to say, the speed sensor problem was found after the shocks and springs were installed and when the Dash lit up like a christmas tree from the KDSS system (we followed all KDSS instructions from OME) being messed with (and i dont mean tampered with. I mean dealt with in accordance with instructions from OME). Has anyone/everyone run into this problem when changing out Shocks and springs? Anyone have thoughts or suggestions regarding dealing with the dealership, as all I'm getting out of them is shoulder shrugs?

Regards,

tell them to reset the YAW setting and you might find your problems might go away. The other problem you might have run into is stretching the abs wire and that will cause the same problem. We have seen both.

When I first read how you guys have trouble lifting a 200 cruiser with kdss I spoke with our local ARB shop just out of curiosity. I asked them how they dealt with the problem. They said that they didn't interfere with kdss anyhow. Thay said they somehow lenghthened the stabiliser bar support or something. And they say that the truck is fine.

As long as you open the valves, then do the install, then level the truck, then close the valves in that order, you should be ok with current lift options in the market. If you were to go more than the 3" currently available, I do not know the impact on KDSS.

Well, after taking to a 2nd Toyota dealer and it sitting in their shop for a week, then have narrowed the remaining problem down to a stretched wire in the ABS harness, just as Smtyblt called. Needless to say, they are telling me NO ABS wiring Harnesses in the US, and they have found 2 in Canada and have ordered one of them. 3-4 day delivery on the harness. After that, we'll see.........

Also do the YAW reset procedure...
