speaker holes in fj62 dash? (1 Viewer)

I notice that there are speaker holes on top of the passenger side dash and wonder if anybody used them? Maybe for CB? How do you access it? thanks for the input!
 
remove the glove box and i think you can see it/access it. You may have to move the computer to get too it. Its been a month or two...

im pretty sure it is just to release heat through the dash. I couldnt find any mount for a speaker. I may be wrong but thats what i think from what i could see.
 
There is indeed a mount and grill in the FJ62 dash for a single speaker. If you drop the EFI ECU then remove the glovebox, you can gain access, there's quite a bit of room up in there. There are a pair of M6 studs in the dash pad sticking down, presumably for mounting a speaker, although I'm not aware of any FJ62's in this country that have a speaker there. It would be a good place to put a remote speaker for your CB. I have the crossovers for my MB Quart front speakers stashed up there.
