Anyone else have their spare tire rubbed like this? This is just after 5k miles while winched tight into the spare tire pocket underneath the vehicle…

What size tire? My spare looks like that right after removal, but it’s not damage, just a temporary dent that’s not dirty.

There should be rubber feet that hold the spare away from any metal. Might check all yours are present

I can feel the cupping of the groove - it definitely is wear… it’s a brand new KO3

Since there are no cords showing I wouldn't worry too much about it. You're sacrificing a bit of abrasion resistance maybe. All of the structure and pressure retention is from the cords inboard.

That wear shows that the tire had movement. You probably didn't have the spring in the hanger fully compressed and the tire was allowed to bounce.

I mean I guess that is what it has to be… but when I crank it down I go as tight as I can where I feel like tighter might bend the rods? And I try to see if I can move the tire shoving/hitting it. How to know when it’s fully compressed?
