So my rig has a lift and 35" tires... no provision for spare tire carrier as that's the way I found it.
Obviously there is NO WAY the factory tire carrier will hold a 35" spare without tearing the quarter panel up. Therefore I was considering hanging a spare fuel jug on the factory tire carrier. this seems like a no brainer but haven't seen anyone do it or pictures???
Is anyone doing this already or have some pictures? I like the idea as it makes the truck a bit more complete with factory parts. I have hunted and found all the hinges and carrier. the jug and bracket is easy aftermarket stuff.
I have a left side license plate and figure I can get a simple trailer hitch spare tire carrier if I really need a carrier, but prolly just not run a spare since I just drive around town and Hagerty classic car insurance includes local towing. I have factory bumper and light set up for "72 and earlier so no real interest in aftermarket weld on carrier gate for now.
Pictures PLEASE!!!
Thanks guys.
