spam or virus alert

I just received an email from webmaster@ih8mud.com with the title "approved" and an attatchment. Dollars to donuts it is a virus. Just delete. Woody, Junk?

It is a .txt. Actually McAfee_EmailScanReport.txt . But I want to know if it came from ih8mud or not????

.txt is just a text file shouldn't be anything. But then again who knows.

Quite a few viruses out there spoof addresses. Odds are:

1) It was a virus
2) It did not come from ih8mud

It sounds like there was an attachment that McAffe deemed a virus and deleted it. McAffe then replaced the attachment with the .txt file you mentioned to inform the receipent (you) that it had done it's job.. In any case, it is best to do as you did and simply delete it. Spoofing email addresses is not a difficult thing to do...

You look at the header ? What did it trace back to ? Unless ih8mud is allowing message relaying , then I doubt it was spoofed to that degree .... trace the fawker ass . Bomb him into the ground ... then send him a subscription to playgirl , c/o his boss ..

We do not relay messages.

There are only two ih8mud.com addresses....mine is one, the other goes to the server admin.

Because of email spoofing and whatnot, I've likewise received spam from webmaster@ih8mud.com and a dozen of others.....I know darn sure I don't send them to myself...

(ya go blind doing that.....or, so I'm told.....)
