This is a long shot on this forum, but can anyone use a complete late model Ford flattie? I figured I'd list it here before trying some of the other selling sites. I pulled this engine out of a rusted out 1949 F1 pickup 20 years ago with the plan of building a fiberglass deuce coupe with it, but life got in the way. :meh:It would start on ether when it was pulled but wouldn't run-apparently the carb needs a rebuild or maybe just a good cleaning? It has been stored inside and oiled occasionally, and still turns over easily by hand. Most of the original truck's 6 volt wiring harness is included along with the motor as are the headers, starter, generator, water and fuel pumps, and the rest. The only thing missing that I can see is the original air cleaner, even the old basket oil filter is still there along with the original speedometer cable and the block heater that someone added along the way. Asking $1400 as is/where is and I can deliver it within striking distance of Portland Maine for a little extra. Here's some pics:

I know this post is getting aged, but wondering if you ever sold your flathead. I wouldn't be interested in the motor since we buy those here in So Cal for $400 all day long, but I would be interested in the bellhousing and starter plate if you still have them and would sell them separately ???

It hasn't sold yet but I'd like to keep it all together. Thanks for your interest.
