On my M416 the previous owner converted it to a ball by cutting the lunette off at the ring and welding a ball coupler to the lunette’s shaft. I’ve seen a couple places selling reproduction lunette rings for them for around $300, but does anyone know of a source for used / take off lunettes? I’ve been watching eBay recently in case one popped up but so far nothing.

Yeah that’s one of the vendors I found selling reproductions. I’ll probably end up going that route. Just figured I’d look around for someone parting one out or something before spending half of what I paid for the entire trailer just on a lunette.
