I have the Spector off road safari ladder that I’ve used the last 8 years with my fj40. It fits perfect over the rails of my con Fer rack but I am not using any longer.

I'm curious how/where you store that ladder given that it's just loose and hangs there without any hardware. Does it go in the 40 with you, sit on the roof rack and pulled out when you need it?

I have always strapped it down to the roof rack either across the top or to side of rack depending on how full the rack is.
