something is under my headliner, help???

I have a 2004 LC, I guess something broke up under my headliner and now every time I turn or stop and start it sounds like a pebble is being roller across a piece of hard plastic. Has this happened to anyone and is there an easy way to undo a part of the headliner with out taking out the entire thing?

Remove all the panels along the side of the headliner, remove the dome lights and drive around like a madman until it falls out. Can you located it by tapping the headliner and try to move it to a corner?

Haha solid suggestion! Or he could try pulling out the headliner all together. Seems like that wouldn't been much more trouble.

Solid suggestion, indeed! Headliners are pretty expensive. Why risk damage by removing it entirely, if it isn't necessary?

It was probably a rock thrown up when the sunroof was partially open. Might be able to remove the center dome light and bounce it to the hole?

Have someone else drive while you crawl around in back and listen. It may be something in your overhead AC duct?

All good suggestions, just trying not to have to pull the entire headliner.

I really like the magnet idea but I think it is probably a piece of plastic.
