So can you guys give me a ball park on price. One owner all records diff lock rear ac. garage kept no accidents excellent condition. List price from owner is $14000. Kbb says it should be $12300. Going to test drive tomorrow and will take cash. I have seen them go for a little more and a little less. What do you think. I appreciate all the help. Have owned an 04 and a 1996 80 series. Love these trucks. Thanks

Mileage? Location? Timing Belt status?

Miles as stated in the title are 100000, timing belt replaced, location Tennessee.
Thanks for helping me out.

Sorry did pay enough attention to the subject.

Depending on how extensive the service records are and how thorough the TB maint was. (Was the water pump done etc.) Also how do the tires look, I'd say 13,500 is a nice deal if you could get him to take that.

Tires are new, 2000 miles, oil changed every 3000 miles. Would rather have a 03 or newer, but will be used mostly for wife as daily driver and some camping and off roading.

Check it out and drive it but sounds like a good deal to me.

Offer at 13, settle at 13500..maybe 13700.

It sounds like a good deal...

Check it out thoroughly and drive it.
If it is everything you describe, then you should buy it.

14k is a fine deal; 12k would be even better.

I think a 99 with 100k miles is the sweet spot.

You could spend a lot more and get a 2003 with a 5 speed transmission and an obsolete non-replaceable navigation system.

Or you could save a few dollars and get a higher mileage rig that will cost you more in maintenance in the long-run.

If it is in good shape (no accidents, no rust, drives straight, no rips in the leather) then $14k is not a bad price.

You know, I do not mind paying a little more premium for well kept vehicles. Im going to whip out 12k in cash if it is as represented. However if it is that nice, im sure she will get the 14k.

If it's been in TN all its life and is rust free it's probably worth $14k. Although at that price gets you awfully close to an 03 with ~150k miles...

I wouldn't be afraid to pay $13 and some change for it.

You have a different opinion?
 yeah, apparently in the minority...
I don't mind high miles on cruisers, that's their strongest selling point - they go forever- so why pay a premium for something you don't need (as compared to other cars)? I just picked up an '04 with 150K for $13.2. In a short time, that '99 you're looking at will have 150K+ miles on it. It will never have a 5 speed, ATRAC, telescoping steering, Bluetooth or rearview (unless you pay more), etc., etc. It's a truck, not an investment. Buy what you'll enjoy driving every day. I guess if low miles bring a smile to your face every day, then go for it. owning both a 2000 and the '04, I much prefer the newer cruiser's features, and would choose them over low miles, price and general condition being comparable...

That is a really good price on your '04. A quick autotrader search lists only 6 100s in the entire country are '03 or newer and less than $15k.

This one looks like a pretty good deal: '03 - 123k - $15,000

The particular vehicle the OP is asking about seems to be darn-near perfect. Newer tires, excellent condition, rust-free, recent TB/WP service, and only 100k.

You should be able to find a 98-02 with higher miles for closer to $10k, so I guess the question is how much of a premium are you willing to pay for the "extras" this one has.

Thanks for you perspective. I tend to agree on some points and like some of the newer features. Im going to look at the truck in a few hours and see how I feel about it. Thanks

For reference, my 98 with 138k last June cost me $9.3k, everything in near perfect condition save for tires. All PM done on time with records since 2000 when it moved to Cali from Georgia. No rust. I don't think I could justify another 5k just for 38k less miles... I'm with re_guderian on this one... if that's a price you don't mind paying go grab a newer one so the wife has more modern features. I personally wanted the bare bones and elocker.

I guess it all depends on price, condition and features. If the truck is excellent and I can get it a little cheaper than Ill go for it.

I couldn't agree with Rob more on this. Seems very high priced but that is definitely in the eyes of the...purchaser. Either way good luck and you'll love having a 100 series Cruiser.
