I checked the little portal under the carpet and found that the fuel tank pressure sensor wire had been chewed. However, I cannot find the other end of the wire. Can anyone clue me on where to look? The sensor points towards the front passenger seat so I figure it's in that direction, but I don't see or feel anything. Most of the area around the portal is pretty tight, but there is a small indentation on the passenger side (top of the photo, left side of photo is front of vehicle). I can stick my arm in there a little ways, but did not feel anything.

Also, is it OK to drive like this? (CEL, VSC Trac & VSC Off lights. OBDII code P0453)

Thanks

OK after much searching I finally figured out where the missing wires came from. The rat bastard chewed the wires so closely that I didn't see them sticking out of the taped bundle (with the red circle)

So, my next question is this. The gauge of the wires Toyota provides on their Terminal Repair kit (82998-12440) is much thicker than the original wires. Will this make any significant difference with the readings from the fuel tank pressure sensor? I know I could buy the proper wire and crimp them onto the original connectors, but I already have the repair kit.

You'll be fine, It's a low amp circuit. Better than going the other way.

I'm always dealing with chewed harnesses in rat/mouse infested cars all the time. A lot of the 911's we get sit around only to be used on an occasional weekend romp so they're often times used for rodent dwelling units. Covid was a nightmare with no one driving and cars sitting for months.
