Would a set of soft doors that were purchased for a 1980 FJ40 have any fitment issues when installed on a '76 FJ40? I've got a line on a set of 2-piece soft doors and don't think there'd be issues but knowing my luck, figured it better to ask!

I'm currently running a Kayline soft top and the doors in question are from Bestop.

Yeah, I keep reading about these windshield 'spacers' as they relate to the doors (hard and soft). WTF are they, anyway? Some kind of shim or what??? I do know that my hard doors don't fit very well with the soft top installed as they hit the outermost lip on the windshield frame.
Like your 40 David, my tub is a conglomerate effort from several different tubs, a piece or two of new sheet metal, a cowl, and windsheld frame. Nothing is matching,
Have any picutres of this mystery 'spacer'???
