any decent muffler shop can put aftermarket cats in
there is nothing special about them unless you want to have a stock assembly

I’m in good ole California. They require them to be “special” out here.

Toyota had some in stock last year. There is an interchange with several models. Same cats came on the 4cyl cars.

Paul people who live in the PRK need OEM cats. It is insane to have requirements like that on old low production vehicles.

I had no idea.
I was under the impression that aftermarket cats were 50 state legal.

I may have a set off an 88 fj62. I'll look. I know I have a few 80 series cats.

Colorado has recently adopted similar policies on cats.

While AZ doesn't have any requirements for OEM CATs as far as I know. We do have a big CAT thieves problem. Can see being a problem down the road. Won't need another cash for clunker project government will just make it illegal to register a vehicle without working original OEM CATs in place.
