10/4/2018 UPDATE: SALE COMPLETE
Out of state owner flew in and finalized purchase.

Craigslist ad: '01 Lexus LX470, Great condition, 139k miles

Asking price is $16,500

Selling my Black 2001 Lexus LX470. I am the 2nd Owner of this vehicle and purchased it several years ago at 105k miles in Virginia. Dealing with a family issue and need to sell, my loss could be your gain.

The vehicle has been well maintained (I have my maintenance records over the past several years) and it runs great - will be perfect for an owner looking to continue to modify and build it up in order to complete an off-road or overlanding build. I wouldn't hesitate to take this truck anywhere; In fact, last summer, I completed an 8,000 mile road trip around the States.

Vehicle features are listed below, however will also include in a large Hi-Lift Jack, along with the original set of chrome wheels (5) and set of 5x oversized 285/75 used Cooper Discover S/T Maxx tires - still have good tread but not mounted.

Engine / Model: UZJ100 - 2UZ-FE / 4.7L V8 F 32V with 4WD
Mileage: 139,5xx miles (however mileage will slowly increase until sold (not being used as a daily driver though))
Color: Black Exterior with grey trim / Tan Leather Interior

FEATURES:
-Seats 8 total with 3rd row jump seats installed (included in very good condition);
-Power Sun Roof & power folding side mirrors;
-XM Radio installed (not currently subscribed);
-Original Adjustable Height Control (AHC) hydraulic suspension and Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS);
-Custom Front Bumper with LED Light bar and LED fog lights;
-Custom Rear Steel Bumper with swing out spare tire carrier and ladder/fuel can carrier;
-Custom side-steps / sliders;
-Brand new 285/75R16 BFG All-Terrain KO2s tires (Less than 300 miles); Tires comes with the Discount Tire Certificates for free replacement if damaged. (For details on this program: https://www.discounttire.com/customer-service/certificates)
-SCS F5 Matte Gunmetal Custom Rims - 16x8 +10mm / 5x150;
-Hood has a custom matte/chalkboard black vinyl wrap on upper 2/3 of it to reduce glare to driver, Lower portion of hood is a glossy vinyl wrap;

I have all of my maintenance records since my purchase:
-105k miles - new water pump and timing belt installed
-125k miles - Changed O2 Sensors; Front Bearing Repack; Major Fluid changed: AHC Flush, Transmission Fluid, Transfer case fluid, and power steering fluid changed
-New battery at 125k miles
-Coolant Flush at 137k miles
-New BFGoodrich Tires installed at 139k miles
-California Tabs just renewed in August

CONS:
-All-in-all, the truck looks and drives great, however there are some small external and internal cosmetic issues (scratches, small dings, etc...) as to be expected of a truck of this age;
-Currently the swing out ladder/fuel can carrier is not mounted, but can easily be remounted; However, need to replace internal tapered ball bearings and seals, which I will do in the coming week or so;

Thanks - let me know if you want to swing by and take a look. I'm a quick drive from there up the 56.

I know you said in your post that you had the AHC flushed recently. Is there an issue with the system? The pics with old rims, the front is high and the truck is level. The pics with the new rims, the front is sagging and truck is not sitting level.

Sagging? I don't see that, are you referring to the picture with the tire up on the curb? No, I haven't experienced any issues with the AHC, readings were all fine when last checked.

I did add King Springs in the Rear to deal with all of the additional weight and those are a bit higher and stiffer than the OEM springs. I think when the tire is not mounted on the rear of the vehicle or if the vehicle is not loaded with passengers, the king springs may raise the back slightly. I may just be used to seeing that with the vehicle not sure.

I did do a AHC fluid flush in April 2017, but I did that as part of preventative maintenance at the time - changing out almost all the fluids on the vehicle because I has access to a certified Toyota mechanic and it was cheaper labor to change out all of the fluids there in the DR. AHC has worked fine for me on the street and highway, but I have also added a lot of weight to the vehicle. I will tell this to any potential buyer - If I was purchasing the truck now and planning on doing any off-roading with the added weight on it, I would swap out the AHC and add in a Slee Heavy Load suspension kit with Old Man Emu shocks. That would run around $1500 or so. Just something any potential buyer needs to consider depending on their intended purpose and use for the vehicle.

I was looking at photo with the new rims on the street, not of it on the curb. And the photo of old rims with person in driver seat. Maybe just the angle but the stance of the truck looks different in the pictures. There are a lot of mixed opinions on AHC. Some guys guys love it, some don't.

If I have a chance this week I will take and upload some pics in High, Medium and Low. Yes, there are alot of opinions on AHC. I've owned a '98 LC with stock suspension and this '01 LX470. I think the AHC works great, but even with stock suspension there comes a point where you may want to consider repairing it or replacing it. Again, although the AHC has worked great on this vehicle, I've added a bit of weight and I think anyone wanting to do some serious offroading would be best served to look at an upgrade. I know I would pursue that if I were keeping the vehicle.

I also recommend anyone serious about purchasing older used vehicles have an independent mechanic inspect it so that they are satisfied about the vehicle's true condition and not just perceptions from photos.

Yes, thank you. I had read that but was hoping for more detail to custom. Technically anything that isn't factory could be "custom". An ARB bumper on the truck that didn't come with it could technically be "custom". I was hoping to see something like "James over at Blah Blah Blah Fab did it for me and he can do it for you." Or even who was the one to do the custom work. It actually looks more like a Pelfreybilt bumper which I had on my other truck, was curious if they may have been the ones to do it since the seller appears to be in CA, same as Pelfreybilt, from the license plate. Thanks for the post though.

You have to go in his build thread to see it. But he had them built in the Dominican Republic. I did the same thing when I first looked at the posting.

Ahhh, perfect. Thank you for the help. I'll look up the build thread.

Sorry for the delayed response. Yes, the bumper was custom built in the DomRep by a private fabricator. There are a lot of shops down there that fabricate bumpers and after market parts for off-road vehicles.

Update - Vehicle is currently pending sale.
