I have a 1981 Toyota that needs to go. It's been sitting for about 5 years indoors. I start it about once a month, keep a tiny bit of fuel in, and pump it out on a regular basis. While it runs just fine, it's a project and needs some more attention. It has been a desert truck its entire life and the floorboard shows it. No rust, no accidents, no rollovers. I'm asking $12,000 for it.
  • 35” BFG Krawlers on Mickey Thompson fake deadlocks. Tires are junk.
  • Balanced and Blueprinted 22R, oversized valves and mild cam. Hypereutactic pistons. Less than 6000 miles on engine. Engine oil changed at first 200 and 2000 miles with proper break-in observed. Engine from a 1993, with a manual fuel pump drive added. I have not adjusted valves yet since install, so that would be on the to-do list.
  • Weber 32/36mm carb with fuel pressure regulator and LC Engineering Spiral Spacer
  • Offenhauser Intake
  • LC Engineering air filter
  • LC Engineering Valve Cover Kit
  • L-52 5 speed transmission
  • LC Engineering smog block-off kit
  • LC Engineering Pro Clutch Kit
  • LC Engineering CA-carb headers
  • Toyota Vacuum advance distributor
  • Dave’s Offroad triple stick shifter
  • Bud Built Skid Plate
  • Inchworm Transfer Case Doubler, 2.3:1 ratio front case, 4.7:1 ratio rear case, 23 spline output transfer case. Marlin Crawler adapter. Built by Inchworm.
  • Dual CV driveshafts, front and rear, High Desert Driveline
  • V6 Turbo Rear Differential, 5.29 ratio. Marlin Crawler built
  • FJ80 High Pinion Front Differential, 5.29 ratio, Marlin Crawler Built
  • Dual ARB air lockers
  • Trail Gear 4” lift
  • 30 spline Longfields
  • Chromoly hub gears
  • New Aisin Hubs
  • FJ60 Vented Front Rotors
  • Toyota T100 Front Brake Calipers
  • FJ80 Brake Master Cylinder
  • 1” wheel spacers
  • Crossover Steering with FJ80 rod ends
  • Chromoly Tie Rods
  • Hi Steer Arms
  • Toyota crossover steering box. Frame is boxed and sleeved in steering area
  • Trail Gear High Output steering pump, suitable for hydraulic ram
  • Bobbed 21.5”, less than 2 tablespoons of bondo on the welds. NO BONDO besides that. Bob was done very clean.
  • Original Paint, except on bob location, which has the fancy rattle can treatment.
  • Rock sliders welded to scab plated frame
  • Bilstein Shocks, new shock towers welded in.
  • NO ACCIDENTS, NO RUST, BEEN IN SO CAL DESERT FOR ITS ENTIRE LIFE
  • Corbeu Seats, custom low brackets. Seats are oxidized and dull, but fabric is solid.
  • Crow lap belts
  • Hella Headlights with Painless wiring harness
  • 120K original miles, to best of knowledge. It is possible that it has 220k, but I highly doubt it based on the wear of the pedals, and what the bench seat looked like.
  • No accidents ever
  • 3 core radiator
  • Toyota V8 rear badge (it makes it faster)
I have owned this truck for around 20 years. I kept everything Toyota. Needs minor fixes for comfort. Lots of power for little truck with big tires. If you don't look at the speedometer, it feels and sounds like you're going fast. Ridiculous low range. Clean title, currently non-op, will not pass smog. I have all the original smog equipment, which was for a California 20R. Manufactured September 1980

Problems:

Dash lights, and dome light have never functioned since I owned it. I think a piece is missing from the back of the gauge cluster, but I cannot find a comparison for reference.
Instrument cluster works intermittently.
PS door mirror got ripped off by an angry tree and never repaired. Small dent on hood.
Headlights are not street legal, and seem to blind oncoming traffic up high.
Tires are shot. They have tons of tread, but tons of cracks and drive like blocks.
Inner fenderwells have been bent in for tire clearance. I had plans to cut it out and weld in sheets with more clearance.
The Weber runs rich, has a bog if you stab the pedal.
Parking brake linkage/cable needs modified to work better.
After sitting, the rear ARB o-ring is holding intermittently. I'll toss in a new O-ring and seal housing if you want that I've never got around to installing.
Plastic vent tubes for heater/fresh air are no longer there.
And the worst part, it has Trail-Gear suspension.

Engine is cold blooded. The original exhaust heat riser has been replaced with an LC engineering coolant based heater for the manifold. It starts like the 2F in my cruiser if it's winter.

Still have it and wouldn't mind selling it.

Since my original post, I have a really nice reproduction sr5 decal kit I haven't put on yet, and a little more LC engineering stuff that now come with it. Extra fenders and a front valance as wel. I was going to just fix it a bit more and drive it, but a new job is preventing anything like that.
