Okay, okay - it's just "rare" that anyone likes/chooses this color 40 :) But once you own one, it's a pretty great color - (Baby Poo Brown :poop:!)

This is a very solid, 90% stock, well running FJ40 - nothing special or unique

1978 FJ40 - Original 2F, 4Speed - 117169 miles, 100% CA vehicle - Passes the dreaded CA SMOG
I am the 3rd owner, I bought it from the 2nd owners family - Their father owned it for 28 years on his ranch before he passed. It was in a good bit of neglect - mismatched torn front seats - drooping headliner - fading paint - cracked dash - super old tires/wagon wheels - leaking steering box - sagging original suspension - weird tow bar on the front - mirrors cracked - all lights needing replacement - brakes out of adjustment/needing replacement

Brought it home 11/2019 and started the "bringing back to life" stage (close to $20k in parts/labor receipts)
Within the last 5 years the following work has been done - (just 2k miles since all the listed below has been done and receipts included)
Replaced original suspension with Redline Cruisers 2.5 Ultimate Kit - 2.5 Ultimate Lift Kit with Bilstein Shocks FJ40 Toyota Land Cruiser - https://redlinelandcruisers.com/shop/40-series/suspension/fj40-2-5-inch-lift/
Replaced wagon wheels with Cool Cruisers OEM Gray wheels - Wheels - Set of 5 ea - BJ & FJ40,45,55 - '63 to 8/80 - Gray - TOYOTA - https://www.coolcruisers.com/whsetof5eabj.html
5 new BFG K02's 33x10.5x15
Replaced original dash with New OEM Toyota
Rebuilt cooling system - New OEM Water Pump, Thermostat, Gaskets - Rubber Thermostat Housing Gasket - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/rubber-thermostat-housing-gasket.1216186/
Replaced the Front Turn Signals with OEM Toyota
Replaced Rear Turn Signals with OEM Toyota
Replaced the OEM Bushings on the Rear Tire Carrier - Spare Wheel Carrier Hinge Pins Upgrade Kit for Land Cruiser FJ40 - https://www.cityracerllc.com/products/spare-wheel-carrier-pin-upgrade-for-land-cruiser-fj40

Replaced OEM rear brake drums with new OEM Brake Drums
Replaced OEM brake master cylinder with new OEM Master Cylinder
Replaced OEM hard top gaskets with new OEM or City Racer when OEM wasn't available
Replaced OEM headlights with new Koito OEM Headlights
Replaced OEM rear view mirror with New OEM
Installed Retro Sound Bluetooth Stereo and speakers with FJ40 lower footwell brackets
Installed Cruiser Crap locking Center Console
Powder coated air cleaner, engine hooks, valve cover, air horn
Rebuilt Emissions Computer
Stainless Hood Pins

Sent it to Georg @orangefj45 Valley Hybrids - 5 ⭐'s out of 5 - (May 2020 - 2k miles ago)
Rebuilt Steering Box - New Tie Rod End - New Steering Stabilizer - Axle Shims Front/Rear - New U-Bolts
Rebuilt Knuckles - New Reman Calipers - New Brakes - New Rotors
Remove welded front bumper and R&R with OEM Toyota Bumper & Gussets
New Front U-Joints - Dual Seal Speedo Housing - Misc Gear Train work
New OEM Radiator - Hoses/Clamps
New Clutch Slave - New Clutch Master
New OEM Fuel Pump

While it was at Valley Hybrids, I decided to get the upholstery re-done at a local shop since Georg was waiting on parts
Included - Front Seats, Rear Jump Seats, Headliner - Pics below

Known issues:
A few rust spots - See Pics
Rear of 40 - when I got the 40, the inner rear fender-well behind the taillights had the proverbial dirt caked in it
Front Cowl below window - See Pics
Surface Rust under the original oem bed mat
Previous owner of the 40 had a right front end accident - front hood corner, apron, passenger fender repaired poorly - paint/body work :poop:
Previous owner had new door seals put on - some spots need to be re-glued
The usual Fj40 oil leaks - nothing major just annoying
Few small bumps and character bruises

Extras:
Brand New Anchor Stitch bikini top - (long size - never used - needs an additional bow or roll bar extension to cover rear jump seats)
Brand new OEM Passenger Fender - Original fender has a tear/repair that will keep being an eyesore, so I bought OEM since it was still available
Additional FJ40 Hood in case the original hood can't be fixed (I'm very OCD when it comes to body/paint work being done)
Real Steel Tailgate - when the hardtop is off
Misc extra small parts

Reason for Selling: Over the years I've owned three Fj40's - this is my favorite one and closest to OEM which I was looking for. Our older son just started college and is playing college football. Our younger son started 9th grade - and is beginning football, we are having fun on this journey with them, and we have lots of weekend travelling to see their games. Plus, owning a FJ40 in the LA area can be pretty frustrating - it's not a practical driver in a 2024 LA world. Recently, I've been building my 200 and the 40 has just been sitting. Don't really want all the work and $$ I've spent to go to waste.

Asking $24k, I believe that's a pretty fair price. But I also know the board members will be fair and let me know if I'm off on the price. I've been a Mud member for a few years and learned an incredible amount from great friends and resources here, and will continue to be here with my 200. I've bought and sold a few parts and a FJ40 here, I've tried to be a valuable member also. (@ryanCA)
Feel free to reach out for additional pics or questions.

The first pick is when I picked it up, 2nd pic is what it looked like at Valley Hybrids, 3rd & 4th pick is what it currently looks like now

Additional pics will be loaded asap
