Lights are flashing. VCS engine and 4lo. Car runs fine. Never seen this. Thanks - Joe! ***it resolved itself for now - no more lights*** Must have reset the system as I had multiple trips today. :) Yay!

check for CEL codes. otherwise, shot in the dark - how old is your battery?

That happens on my 2009 (pretty much ever since we bought it in 2013). Give it long enough and it eventually resets itself.

read the codes. Toyota did a poor job with check engine lights and dash messages. There's likely nothing wrong with the VSC system as all these lights tend to come on when a simple check engine light would be more appropriate .

This.

The stability control system needs to be able to add throttle in some situations so anything that it thinks is impacting engine power will trigger not only a CEL but VSC and possibly ABS lights.

Either way, all this speculation is pointless when getting real data is as simple as visiting oreilly/autozone or ordering a bluetooth obd adapter from amazon for $30.

Just get the codes.

o2 sensor or gas cap are likely suspects.

I just had the same lights. But in my case, the truck shuddered slightly at low speeds. Turns out a mouse had chewed through one of the spark plug wires.

You probably wouldn’t be laughing about it if it cost you $850 to fix it.
That stinks. Sorry to hear that. I laughed because I had to remove a mouse from my heater motor after I heard a weird noise when my fan went on - also saw about 50 pieces of dog food in my engine cabin.

Had the same lights come on my truck. Took the gas cap off put it back on tight (because of reading this thread) and lights gone! Thank You!
