Got the 24v-12v converter in with Bluesea fuse block and a extra duel USB port for electronics charging duties. Also switched the cig lighter to 12v also. Mounted the fuse block on the LH kick panel under the flare mount, so 24v fuse block on the right and 12v on the left. I used a relay tapped in to the ignition to shut power from the converter on and off with the rest of the accessories. I pretty much copied Mr Tibbs set up, lots of good info was used from this thread: https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/converter-radio-install-in-bj71.818882/ to make it all work right. Wiring diagram and link to relay is in there also.

Fuse block location. Other wires are for the after market speakers in the the rear doors, I just haven't pulled them out from under the carpet yet.

You have a flare?

sonofabitch. I NEED one of those. My empty hooks look dumb...........:bang:

Excellent!

Emergency rations.....:grinpimp:

How about a better pic of that flare-gizmo? Pretty please.:grinpimp:

I wish I had known you wanted a flare gizmo. I have sold at least two Cruisers that had them installed.

If you sold them prior to last November you are off the hook.

And a higher melting point...:rimshot:

Beautiful 74. For peace of mind, my oil pressure gauge reads super low on my HJ60. I hooked a SnapOn mechanical gauge to the sending unit port and it read over 100 PSI at idle (cold) and over 40 PSI, hot at idle. the gauge is a bad joke.

Thanks!

Gotta find one...

Thanks, actually just finish a test drive after swapping in a new sending unit and happy to report that the gauge now reads more like my 80. Peace of mind goes a long ways!

How much fun was that job?

Got tired of the super low oil pressure reading and replaced the oil pressure sending unit today. I know that in reality that it was fine but it was really bugging me, a little peace of mind goes along way sometimes. Overall this is one of those jobs that's not overly difficult or technical but kinda a trick due to the access. Removing the air cleaner lets you look right at it but getting a wrench on it is another story. Finally got a system down, using a crows foot, swivel and ratchet extension. Once I got that figured out it was just a slow 1/4 turn at a time out and the same putting the new one in.

The tool that made it possible

Also replaced the intake hose right off the air cleaner that I had taped up with some silicon tape, that only really worked for a week before the rest of the hose stating braking down.

And the new fresh hose.
