Stan and Brent-

Garrett and I will not be joining you for the caravan. We will be leaving Costa Mesa this afternoon around 1:00PM. I'll save space for your ez-up awnings, rigs, etc. I'll be on Channel 3 if anyone else will be heading up around this time.

Scott

I'll keep an eye out for you...we should be jumping one the 405 to get to the 101 as you're approaching the pass.

You all be safe up there. I'll be thinking of you all while I'm camping with about 300 kids in Yucaipa.

Have a great time...can't wait to see the pictures!

cheers,
David...

Yep he did playing in a bowl around midnight Friday. Amp wasn't secured and his buddy shattered his nose when the amp hit him. No other human injuries, just one sad looking 80!

Hope you got home safe Sam!

SnT 07 More people pics - you know where to look for SnT Cruiser Porn. :D
Missing from the pics are Lance Rushing and his wonderful family. Guess what - Lance has a white FZJ80! So where are you going to put that SoCal 80s sticker on the truck! Brent did give you the SoCal 80s sticker discount right? :D J/K!!

1. This is how it started from Ventura up. Brent and Stan had this stuff down from Laguna Niguel.
2. The traditional "lets not get a clot in our leg" rest stop before Pismo.
3. Breakfast at CJs before hitting the Pismo sands. You know the first two guys, Luckystrike and wife (weeks old black FJC).

Dude, it looked cold?! And did it rain up there on the beach? woa what a change from when we were there.

Im thinking its relative - as you can see Boyd wearing shorts and sandals (or barefeet ) during the day and night. It was definitely colder at night but no wind to deal with this year.

It did seem like it rained during the night when we woke up. Anything with a top acted like a "rain" condensation trap - water basically collected and dripped down from where it can. The sand was moist and it did affect my tires set at 25 PSI. :D Other than that no rain.

Dave,

A little chilly and a VERY HEAVY marine layer. It was like a heavy mist from about 1 Sat afternoon thru the night.

Nice pics Alan!

You are right about it beeing gloomier this year; but I must admit to wearing shorts and sandals year round, regardless of the weather:D

I did notice that the sand was cold while I set up camp barefoot Friday night. I think transitioning from the heated drive to the cold wet sand made it more obvious. I even wore shoes for about a half an hour before I went to bed.

You know it is cold out when I start wearing pants:)

Looks like a good time as usual. I need to get up there one of these years.

Hope I got the kids names correct? The cutest, sweetest kids ever. The girls are about 18mos. apart I think, but look like twins and Grayson is just a tank. Born 11lbs, ouch, Quan is petite. What a great kid. Nice to have met you and Quan, Lance. We did some wheeling with Lance and family on Sunday. We started out with a group of FJ's but soon lost them and it was just Lance and I. Lance had no problem wheeling hard with the family. Lance took the lead and when we came over one dune and pulled up next to Lance, Quan was beet red, apparently Lance had scared the fun out of her on a knarly descent. ;) We agreed to take it easy and try to run the ridges and avoid the big bowls. About 200 yards later Lance picked a narrow ridge and gunned it up a hump between to large bowls. He got completely sideways and stopped just short of high center. He ended up backing down an 80 foot bowl and had to hammer it to get out. Quan was loving this dune running....not. S n T was a really good time as usual.
