I am selling my 2001 non-nav J100. 334k miles but the absolute cleanest and best-maintained truck I have ever seen! I am the 5th owner; originally it was leased from Mike Miller Toyota in Culver City CA and serviced at Toyota Dealerships; when the lease term expired it was acquired via auction by Toyota of Riverside and sold as a 'Toyota Certified Used Vehicle' with approx. 78k miles in 2006. In 2010 with approx. 119k miles it was acquired by the owner of 'San Diego Trux' which is a specialty shop in...San Diego...that specializes in Toyota and Lexus 4WD vehicles (sdtrux.com). It was his personal vehicle and daily driver until 2024 and was very professionally maintained this entire time; I have 25+ pages of detailed service records that show every major service (e.g. 3x timing belt changes) and regular maintenance (lube/oil/filter changes ever 3k miles religiously; brake pad measurements and tire rotation/balance every 5k miles; driveline fluid changes every 10k miles, etc.). After talking with this shop and learning more about the background, I understand that he replaced this truck with a 2004 J100 and offered the 2001 as part of a deal to buy a 'small yacht' from the person that I ultimately bought the truck from. I saw it parked on a hill while driving along Las Virgenes Canyon Road last July while coming back from a fancy playground in Malibu with my daughter. I stopped to check it out, snapped a few pictures and contacted the seller...after realizing what incredible shape this truck is in, I decided to but it and 36 hours later it was in my driveway :)

It has Slee Front and Rear bumpers (the highly desired and no longer available 'Blueberry I' front bumper for those who know) + sliders, a Warn XP9.5 winch, Dual Battery Kit (with a Blue Sea Systems manual solenoid switch and a Slee trey), Old Man Emu suspension (with Dobinsons shocks...and in my records it shows that the longtime previous owner had Icons then Bilsteins then Dobinsons in here...so he dialed it in), Viper Ceramic window tinting (no longer available) and a Grom BT45 bluetooth adapter connected to the factor 6-CD changer + cassette player + AM/FM radio head unit (so phone calls and phone music integrate seamlessly with the old-school stereo).

Since owning it, I added weathertech floor mats + lloyd mats cargo area protector, re-upholstered the driver seat (leather was cracking), replaced the ABS/VSC module (am happy to explain why and how I did this) and refurbished the factory roof rack. The only 'flaws' it has are two stains: one where the drivers left forearm would rest on inside of drive door, and another in the headliner just behind the sunroof (and after inspecting this and asking San Diego Trux...where the lead mechanic still fondly remembers this truck...was caused not from a clogged sunroof drain or anything bad...but because the shop owner would have it washed and detailed on a near weekly basis, and once one of the junior techs they just hired didn't realize the sunroof was tilted open when he started washing it the truck...)

While I would love to own and drive this vehicle forever, my wife is basically forcing me to sell it because our front yard and driveway are filled to the brim with other toyotas (I also have a highly modified 1989 FJ62 crawler, a 1997 unicorn 4runner [manual transmission + factory rear locker] and a 2020 AWD Sienna...in addition to her 2018 Lexus RX) and I really hope it ends up with a true enthusiast and someone who knows how to properly care for this beautiful machine.

I am asking $16k which is basically break-even price for me (full disclosure only for the ih8mudders...I bought it for $14,500 and have put about $1,400 in it since owning). I know it's a high-mileage vehicle, but to me (and hopefully a few of yall out there) that is more a badge of honor and testament to the benefits of meticulous maintenance than anything to worry about.

I believe that I would buy this if not for time and distance!

Agreed! Seller seems like a really solid guy as well. If this was in Texas I would probably pull the trigger
